Prep ahead 'Lentils yellow split'

'Golden nutty, starchy carb gems with fibre and protein. These lentils make a great addition to super grains and
grilled meats. Save your money and boil up dried lentils in batches rather than buy canned. No preservatives chemicals or added sugars required plus cooked lentils freeze so well. I like to make serves of 5 or 6 per storage container, always keeping one in the freezer. Besides on hot days like these - who wants to spend any more time near a stove more than they have to. Just thaw out the night before and use within the week when desired. Lentils and beans are one of those good food habits I've held onto, since I became a fan 20 years ago through being Vegetarian then. One of my next buys will be a crock-pot however or slow cooker (will keep you posted on that) I served mine here with Salad warm 'Millet Pea lentil Avo Heart' (link) Don't forget the related Thumbnail Links at the end of this post, enjoy :D'

... What I Used;
  • Dried Lentils Yellow Split
  • Water
  • A little Sea Salt or Seaweed (Not a typo :D)
... Make sure to rinse out your lentils and strain to remove the occasional stone
... Add to a pot of hot water with a crack of sea salt or strip of seaweed, bring to boil before reducing heat to a simmer for 30 to 40 minutes (I use a ratio of 200g of lentils to 750mls of water) keep an eye on things occasionally and more water if required
... Remove, strain, store and use :D
... Served in Salad warm 'Millet Pea lentil Avo Heart' (Link)
